The replacement is a tragic and mysterious YA Paranormal story by Brenna Yovanoff. This story is about a teenage boy, a family, and a town, all with a secret. I loved the ongoing mystery and the relation to dark stories of the fae. Awesome story.

For some reason, I'd avoided reading this--perhaps subconsciously dodging the topic of aging, but once I gave in, it was mostly a quick, fun read! It was full of laughs and Ephron's quirky humor, so I'm glad I read it... wait for it...EXCEPT FOR the very last chapter. That was a major downer. At that point, I was wishing Nora had focused a little more on her neck and a little less on the realities of aging. I work hard at remaining in denial, so don't go turning all literal on me, Nora! ;) For the most part, though, I like her style and think it's worth a read.

The actual ideas are fantastic, but the presentation gets a bit tedious. I found the examples section the most helpful.
