It is a huge book, and I believe you have to have some desire to learn about what life was like in Russia during this time period. But if you are one of those people it is a very compelling story about the generational gap between the older generation that predated Communism and the younger generation that knew nothing but communism

An enchanting tale full of extraordinary shapeshifters, witches, faeries, danger, passion and love! Reading Dragon Bound was an exciting rollercoaster ride, which I was thrilled to get into and keen to return to. The characters were absolutely charming from the grumpy, bossy Dragos, gentle yet kick-ass when necessary Pia to all the great secondary characters like Tricks, Rune, Graydon and Tiago to name but a few. There's passion and love aplenty and a nice mystery for both characters and readers alike. For what does Pia shift into? I loved this book and cannot wait to try another one by Thea Harrison. She is rapidly becoming one of my favourites!

I figured that I would like this book based on the amusing pieces that I've read in the past by Cocks and Morgan, but this book exceeded my expectations. It's smartly written with a core story that teenagers will enjoy, and with an abundance of pop culture and fashion references to amuse older readers and serve as inside jokes for regular readers of Go Fug Yourself. The book takes a familiar fish out of water plot and makes it fresh and original by injecting loads of humor, bypassing many young adult clichés and completely embracing the craziness of the setting and secondary characters. I liked how both of the main characters were completely relatable and grounded in some way. Everything that Brick says is an absolute hoot, and I adored each of the incredibly creative fake movie titles. Such fun, and how can you not like a book that manages to perfectly employ a Slow Clap?
