A nice tidy zombie novel. It wasn't stunning by any means, but brains did get eaten and that counts for a lot in my book.
OMG!!! One of my favorite childhood books! I need to get a copy!
Good book and good information from local resource.
The title is lurid, but the horror is solid. There is a little bit for everyone here: revenge from beyond the grave, mad science, bad seeds, tortured art and mysterious illnesses. Better known for Uzumaki, Volume 1 and 富江―The complete comics of Tomie, both of which were made into movies, Junji Ito's sensibilities are deliciously bizarre, even Lovecraftian. This volume collects together six macabre tales representing some of Ito's earliest work (1988 to 1994). Pulp meets Grand Guignol here, and anyone who's watched Tales From the Crypt will definitely recognize a similar aesthetic. Even at his briefest, Ito is adept at delivering a grim story in a uniquely tongue-in-cheek way.
