This book is like a primitive version of Ayn Rand's other books. It carries the same ideas, but Anthem seems to be an early sketch of these books. It is barely developed and is literarily weak. This is especially evident in the abrupt change that occurs in the final two chapters in which the book loses the guise of a story; it's evident that Prometheus (Equality 7-2521) is no longer speaking, but Rand alone. If the reader is interested in Rand's earlier work and the beginnings of her writings, this book can be useful, and it helps that it's a quick read at under 100 pages.
