James Tate’s poems are like tiny, surreal short stories. Give this a try even if you don’t usually like poetry.

My latest "in the car/on the road" adventure. Short and quick--always good to hear how others get through trials. Makes the point that a lot can be learned from life lessons as opposed to school without saying "quit school". Also points out how little is actually within our control--his Parkinson's being the absolute case in point.

This was a fantastic look at what pulled us out of the Depression. I was hoping to see some FDR-like leadership in this mold from Obama when I heard he'd read this... but nothing... There's a lot to be learned here and it's a fascinating read.

The author's style of writing didn't grab me, and I just couldn't mentally get into this book, so I put it down.
