For a young adult audience, this series of 4 books shares some remarkably grown-up lessons of the incredible strength and frailty of life as told by James Herriott, the British country vet who takes on everything from irate old farmers to cows with breech calves. His descriptions of the English countryside, particularly during the harsh winter storms, are poignant and reminded me of "Wuthering Heights".
Enjoyed the last installment of the Gregor series. I'm sad to see it end. Am feening for a new series to get into.
