Uhh, I just can not decide how much I liked this. It had moments when it was maybe three or four stars and then there were some moments that were maybe a two so I will stick it in the middle at three. I was hoping that this was going to be the last book in the series but no luck with that. It was interesting to see Daniel and Luce's past lives together.

As with most Penguin medieval translations, the classic French epic suffers somewhat under a mediocre interpertation. I'm not a huge fan of Roland anyways (knights should NOT swoon as often as the warriors in this poem!), but it should be better treated than this.
