Still mulling this one over, since I keep changing the star-rating... But I did just finish reading the final 300 pages in a single sitting, and there are entire books shorter than that, so it certainly succeeds at being gripping despite the immensity. An apocalyptic saga with wildly variable quality of writing, mostly enjoyable and occasionally frustrating.

Well done! Liked it better than Gone Girl. Super creepy
