I cannot say enough about this beloved author. She carried my through my youth and young adulthood and helped form in me a love of words and expression and language like no other author has done. A true inspiration.

Maybe David Foster Wallace's writing was too over my head, or maybe I just wasn't wanting a book that involves this much thinking when I heard about the author on NPR. This collection of not-so-short essays has a few highlights and bright spots, but overall is too loquacious, too highbrow and just too much.
