The book needs to be read without the usual image one associates with Akbar. Quite an interesting read and the authors have delivered on yet another book which is racy, informative and reasonably accurate. However, I was disappointed that the book did not even feature some characters I'd associated with Akbar since childhood such as Birbal and Tansen. Given his rule for over 50 yrs or so, I would have felt this book would have deserved a 800-1000 page tome/ two series rather than sticking to the publisher guideline of 300-400 pages for all rulers.
