one of the most arduous fiction books i have ever read, but worth the effort. i think Calvino is a genius, but at time it was challenging to keep up with his unconventional style. i encourage folks to stick with it.

Operating Instructions is still my favorite Anne Lamott book, but this is a close second. Her son is older, and she ponders more on her relationship with God. Again, her honesty and personality shine through.
